About the Author

I got the cycling bug back in 2012 after a life changing injury ended my running days. It wasn’t long before I entered and completed by first Sportive, a 44 miler which seemed a long way at the time.

I stepped up the distance during 2013 riding more Sportives, reaching a new pinnacle of 73 miles towards the end of the year. I was now well on my way. My progress continued in 2014 and I completed my first century that August. I was hooked… more would follow! My new found obsession continued during 2015 and by the end of the year I had ridden a further six. More followed in 2016 culminating in century number twelve… Ride London.

Inspired by these events I sat down and wrote my first book, ‘Tales of a Centurion’, which chronicles the events from the devastating injury to the exhilaration of that twelfth century in London.

Post London, I squeezed in another century before finishing off the year with my first double… riding the New Forest 100 on consecutive days. 2017 continued in the same vein, another double and then my first treble… the Tour of Wessex, a century a day over three consecutive days. More centuries followed with my second Ride London in July and the Marmotte Pyrenees in August.

I’m currently in the process of writing my second and third books… ‘My Tour of Wessex’ and ‘Project Pyrenees’. I also write for Sportive.com.

This is me… I ride my bike… and I write stories!

Cheers,
Dave Chalk
